The history of afirethatheals

I can't tell you how excited I am to have A Fire that Heals out there to read. It was my second book that I wrote, and believe me, it's come a long way from those first words. Learning how to write requires the writer to be patient as they learn each step that makes for good writing and readable, enjoyable stories. There's the characters, the conflict, the setting, the plot, the arc, the tone, the pacing, grammar (my weakness) and on and on. And it can be intimidating, and you must have a thick skin. (Which I've never had, but I'm learning)

But there is a magic that comes from writing and creating. And it's true author's become best friends with their characters.

I completed this novel fast like my first one, but then I worked on it, while writing more books, for nine years.

One of the personable aspect that went into this story was the fact that my oldest son's favorite scripture has always been Helaman 5:12

"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock

of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build

your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds,

yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall

have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and

endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a

sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

The thing I enjoy the most about writing is the researching and the learning that goes with developing a believable story. This learning helps numb the guilt for living in a fictional world. Writing is addictive, and by the time you spend ten years practicing this craft, you can't let it go to waste.

Hopefully readers will know of all the sweat and tears that go into producing words and stories that come from the heart.

I do hope that A Fire that Heals will be enjoyed by many.
